About us
James Ok and Partners, CPA is a professionally licensed accountancy firm based in Kampala, Uganda. We are registered and licensed by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda under Firm No. AF0261, with Practising Certificate P0378.
The firm was established to bring professional-grade audit, tax, accounting, and advisory services to organisations that deserve quality but have not always had access to it — NGOs and faith-based organisations, small and medium enterprises, SACCOs, forex bureaus, oil and gas contractors, and public sector entities across Uganda.
We operate under Full International Standards on Auditing and maintain a documented System of Quality Management aligned to ISQM 1. Every engagement is personally overseen by CPA James Okello, the firm’s Managing Partner and sole practitioner, who brings over a decade of professional experience across audit, taxation, internal controls, and business advisory.
Our clients include organisations funded by international donors such as Plan International, CDC, and Sequa gGmbH, as well as entities regulated by the Bank of Uganda, the Petroleum Authority of Uganda, and the Office of the Auditor General. We have delivered engagements across Central, Eastern, Western, and Northern Uganda.
We are not a large firm. We do not pretend to be. What we offer is direct partner involvement on every engagement, technical rigour that meets international inspection standards, and the kind of professional relationship where the person who signs your report is the same person who did the work.
What we do
Our Four Service Lines
Our audit and assurance practice covers statutory audits, donor fund audits, internal audit engagements, and agreed-upon procedures, all conducted under Full International Standards on Auditing.
In tax compliance and advisory, we handle corporate income tax, VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, and EFRIS compliance, and represent clients before Uganda Revenue Authority as a registered Tax Agent (Reg. No. MB01262157062).
Our accounting and bookkeeping service covers management accounts, financial statement preparation under IFRS for SMEs, payroll processing, and board reporting packages for management and directors.
Through our business consulting and advisory work, we support clients with business registration, financial analysis, budgeting, grant proposal financial sections, and internal controls reviews.
